Notice for all Way2Pay Customers
PSD2 Regulation - Strong Customer Authentication
The incoming PSD2 legislation is aiming to make online payments safer by implementing Strong Customer Authentication. Changes in the Payment Service Providers need to be in place before the end of the year and Way2Pay will be compliant with these changes before the end of November.
Way2Pay Customers do not need to do anything and will not see any changes in the System.
The effect that the underlying changes will have is that cardholders making payments may be occasionally asked to validate their payment – for example entering a code/PIN sent to their phone.
The technical details are that the Strong Customer Authentication protocols will be implemented on Payment Gateways by turning on 3D Secure for all payments. This will be the new standard for any payment over the internet and is not particular to Way2Pay, but we felt it important to inform you that these changes will be implemented in November and assure you that there is nothing you need to do to enable this or to prepare for it.
If you have any further queries you can contact your merchant services provider directly, or indeed we would be happy to try answer any questions.
